4 Days Desert Tour from Fez to Marrakech Itinerary Option 1:

​

Day 1: Fes - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi  467km

​

We start our 4 days Fez to Marrakech via Sahara desert tour. We leave for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Azrou, an important handicraft centre specialised in the work of cedar wood. We arrive in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon we will drive to Erfoud and into the desert. Dinner and overnight in a hotel at the foothills of Erg Chebbi sahara dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Dunes - tour around ( Erg Chebbi desert)

After breakfast we head to Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music, continue through an off-track road to have a tour of the sand dunes then stop to have tea with nomads in berber tents, you will discover a new sense of life from there and also enjoy a berber pizza for lunch. Back to the hotel to relax before starting your camel trip into the middle of the dunes in order to see the sunset, then after you will arrive at the camp and spend the night in a nomadic tent.

Day 3: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Ouarzazate  368km

​

Wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise, where the colour of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. Arriving at the hotel/riad to have breakfast and a shower. We will continue to Ouarzazate via Rissani and stop in Erfoud: famous for its fossilized marbles, where you will visit the workshop production of marble fossils. Continue to the Todra Gorges which is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own. Have lunch then drive through the town of roses, Kelaa Mgouna. We continue through the Road of a Thousand-Kasbahs passing the Skoura palm grove until we arrive to Ouarzazate named "Hollywood of Morocco" because of the numerous film/tv shows that have been filmed here, including Gladiator, The Mummy and game of thrones and check into the hotel/riad.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech  204km

​

We head to Aït Benhaddou, a 'fortified city', situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Granted UNESCO World Heritage listing, the site had been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After stopping for lunch we then continue to Marrakech over the high Atlas mountains.

4 Days Desert Tour from Fez to Marrakech Itinerary Option 2:

Day 1: Fez - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi  467km

Day 2: Merzouga - Erfoud - Amellagou ( spring & summer )- Todra Gorge - Dades Gorges  271km

Early morning in order to see the sunrise, return by camels to the hotel after breakfast departure to Rissani and Erfoud in order to visit the treatment plant marble fossilized before continuing to touroug and tinjdad palm groves, arrival to toudra gorges and have lunch in the place,afternoon you will drive to Dades gorges via Boumalne and the dades valley. Dinner and overnight in a Hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorge - Roses Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou  191km

After breakfast return by the dades valley until the kasbah of Ait youl, the track raod crossing rose valley with its Kasbah and ksours, in this part you can see very nice landscapes before you get to Kalla Mgouna, lunch in the way, after noon departure to the palme groves of skoura and visit of the Kasbah of amredhyle. Continuation to Ouarzazate to visit Taourirt Kasbah and then to Ait Ben Haddou for the night in a beautiful Kasbah. Dinner and over night in hotel.

Day 4: Ait Benhaddou -Telouet - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech  184km

After breakfast, the morning is devoted to the visit of Aït Benhaddou, a 'fortified city', situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill along the ounila valley River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. After lunch we will continue to Marrakech with a detour to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and visit the Kasbah el Glaoui and crossing the high Atlas mountain. Drop off in your hotel in Marrakech and end of your Morocco desert tour adventure.
